Challenges are an important part of life. We can’t fear them or avoid them. We need to THINK and use our life experiences to uncover solutions, then rely on our talents, strengths, and skills to secure the win by showing perseverance.
Show #GRIT
Perseverance is an essential element when you need to achieve a high level of success. It is a great tool to use, and it doesn’t require any college education or training. For most people, perseverance comes naturally, but it can also be enhanced with the right mindset. It doesn’t matter what our goal is, or how long it takes us to reach that goal. The chances of our success depend largely on our willingness to persevere and show GRIT.
Passion + Perserverance
Author, Angela Duckworth, defines GRIT as that place where passion and perseverance meet. GRIT isn’t about luck, talent, or positive thinking. It is about tapping into our purpose that gives meaning to our work. At the end of the day, the majority of successful leaders in our company demonstrate high levels of GRIT. And, as leaders, it is our responsibility to share those same values and work ethic with our team.
Be Who You Are
Before we can help our team, we have to know who we are as individuals and leaders. What is our purpose, and what are some of our goals? We can’t help anyone else until we help ourselves, and we do this by being who we are.
Encourage Perseverance
We can help our team develop and enhance GRIT by recognizing when someone’s operating from a place of fear and helping them overcome it. Support them, and show them that we believe in them. Encourage them to push through obstacles, and find new challenges every day. This is the only way they will make improvements and grow.
Happier Life
Life is a series of peaks and valleys. Sometimes you’re up, sometimes you’re down. But it’s the difficult times where we need a little more support, perseverance, and GRIT. When you can improve your ability to navigate difficult times, you not only live a happier life, but you also grow as a person. You have to dig deep to persevere.
